It’s Morning Again In America

Gabriel Sosa and Greer Muldowney

It's Morning Again in America (2019), a collaboration between Muldowney and Sosa, integrates photographs of a quickly gentrifying Somerville with text from a 1984 Reagan campaign ad in a gesture that reminds us of the rhetorical tropes in U.S. politics as well as the fallible persistence of the American Dream.

Gabriel Sosa’s practice is rooted in the cross-section of law, social justice, translation and the synthesis of fact and fiction. Through a multi-disciplinary practice that includes drawing, video and installation, he explores how the use of language subtly and consistently shapes our everyday experiences. Originally from Miami, he holds an M.F.A. from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts. Recent projects and exhibitions include ¿Para llevar o para tomar aquí?as part of the O, Miami Poetry Festival and Let me explain to you what this means at the Tufts University Art Galleries. In 2019, he was an artist-in-residence at Lugar a dudas in Cali, Colombia. He is currently a Visiting Lecturer at MassArt.
