Jason Crigler

For Illuminus I have created a soundscape that is designed to be played through speakers that are arranged several blocks apart. Though it is all one piece, the parts of the music will be heard separated out from the combined whole. Because of this everyone will have a unique listening experience, and the music will sound different depending on where you hear it. My goal is to tell a story through the various sounds and textures that I use. I want the listening experience to be a journey, and my hope is the listener finds that they have arrived somewhere new by the end of the piece.

Jason Crigler has composed music and sound design for numerous installations, films and ad campaigns. His clients include General Electric, Blue State Digital, Frog Design, and FORGE Worldwide, among others. Jason has worked with Jeff Grantz and Materials & Methods on a number of projects. Most recently the two joined forces to create Dream Wall, a collaboration with artist Hubert Phipps and Masary Studios.
